Caption:
Model showing the steam engine in its final form at a time when steam engines were beginning to make a significant contribution to industry. It has a separate condenser and a governor, both invented by James Watt. The energy supplied by this efficient system was translated into rotary motion which could drive other machinery. The model was made by Peel and Williams for the accession of King George IV.
